Christmas is on its way, with dates now announced for this year’s Birmingham Frankfurt Christmas Market.
The market will open on 5 November and run until Christmas Eve, 24 December, bringing seven weeks of festive cheer, traditional German treats and entertainment to the heart of the city.
The market features beautifully decorated stalls serving German food and drink, including hot gluhwein, schnitzel, bratwurst, alongside an array of handcrafted gifts, decorations, toys, and jewellery.
The market’s opening hours for this year are:
Mondays to Thursdays: 11am to 9pm
Fridays: 11am to 9:30pm
Saturdays: 10am to 9:30pm
Sundays: 10am to 9pm
As a mark of respect on Remembrance Sunday (8 November), the market will be open later at 1pm.
This year, due to ongoing public realm works on Bennetts Hill and Temple Street, there will not be stalls between the Apple store and Nando’s on New Street – but the market resumes beyond Corporation Street, with craft stalls also along High Street.
The popular Big Wheel and Ice Rink attractions will also be back in Centenary Square, opening daily from 5 November 2026 to 3 January 2027, between 10am and 10pm (closed Christmas Day). For more information and to book tickets visit their website, www.iceskatebirmingham.co.uk.
