The funds raised will help sustain the charity’s life‑saving community engagement activities and provide young volunteers with opportunities to develop confidence, communication skills, and experience of interacting with the public.
Cadets and Badgers from Acocks Green Cadet Unit and Badger Sett, along with Solihull Cadet Unit, have been taking part in a series of fundraising activities designed both to support the charity’s operational needs and to build the skills required for their roles in first aid delivery.
Recent fundraising activity has included teaching members of the public how to respond in an emergency through CPR and AED demonstrations, alongside a fundraising stall at The Swan Shopping Centre in Yardley. Volunteers have also supported customers by bag packing at Morrisons in Acocks Green and bag packing at Asda Shirley. These activities have raised a total of £619.39 so far.

Further events are scheduled throughout 2026, with Cadets and Badgers set to continue their involvement in public engagement and first aid awareness. Upcoming activity includes:
• 27 June 2026 – Bag packing at Morrisons in Acocks Green.
• 4 July 2026 – Ward End Fire Station Open Day with life‑saving skills demonstrations and fundraising activities.
• 12 September 2026 – Save a Life September CPR and AED demonstrations and fundraising at The Swan Shopping Centre.
• 17 October 2026 – Restart a Heart October CPR demonstrations and fundraising at The Swan Shopping Centre.
Additional fundraising events are being arranged for later in the year.
Network Lead Linda Colton said:
“I am incredibly proud of the Badgers and Cadets in our Network. The supermarket customers loved seeing them getting involved. They are a credit to the organisation, themselves, and their parents.”
