An up-and-coming sculptor, Ben Poole-Phillips, has organised a local week-long preview show, Petal to Bone, of his works before they go on tour, together with a centenary celebration of the life and works of his grandfather, the renowned sculptor A. John Poole FBRS.

Ben Poole-Phillips is a rising young sculptor who graduated with a degree in Fine Art from Newcastle University in 2023.  His grandfather was a distinguished sculptor with over 100 significant works to his name, including award-winning sculptures in the Birmingham Rotunda, Coventry Old Cathedral, and numerous other private and public sculptures and reliefs.  Now his grandson Ben is carving out a career as a sort-after sculptor.

Ben has been working in his grandfather’s former studio in Bishampton, Worcestershire, building up a portfolio of beautiful original work inspired by birds.  Ben has several exhibitions this year, including the Fresh Air Sculpture Show, Henley Regatta, and Sculpture by the Lakes Sculpture Park.

Ben has organised a week-long show called ‘Petal to Bone’ to preview the works he is exhibiting this year and to celebrate his grandfather’s works in his centenary year.  The exhibition will be St. James Church, Bishampton from 28th February to 8th March and is open daily between 10.00 am to 6.00 pm. All are welcome.

Ben said,

“I’m delighted to be exhibiting my sculptures alongside a celebration of my late grandfather’s life and works”.
